Let's see, it's Monday morning in Beijing so it must be Sunday night at home. We went to the Great Wall, had lunch at a Cloisonne factory, and toured a Hutong by rickshaw (I have no idea how to spell that). It was the same hutong we toured in 2005, but we visited with a different family. The Hutongs have a very rich history and are very interesting to be in. Olivia made it to about 4:00 and then crashed for the night. The moon festival is being celebrated right now so last night was a good night to go get McD's (it actually tastes like ours!) and stay in the room. We just couldn't get Olivia to wake up and didn't want to drag her out asleep anyway.
For some reason the chinese people have found Pat to be very interesting. We keep getting asked to have his picture taken with them. It's really funny, we keep wondering what they see him as. I think it's that he looks like an arrogant bast..., ok, ok, maybe just a foreigner. We'll never know, but it's been fun to film people wanting to film him. We've been told that most of the people that want their pictures taken with a foreigner have probably rarely seen one and will have the picture up on a wall in their home to show others. So Pat will be viral in China, being on several walls.
Today we have a conference meeting then lunch in the hotel and to Temple of Heaven. Then tomorrow, Tuesday morning at 10:00 am we will have Ava in our arms. Oh we can hardly wait. We will try to post tonight but if we don't, the next time you hear from us with be with AVA.
Wendy, I hope Dave is getting better, please know we are praying for him and you. We miss everyone...

Hey mom, when I was in Brazil people wanted to take their photo with me out in public all the time. I think they probably think Pat is handsome and they don't want to miss the opportunity to show others that they saw/met him.
Sometimes foreigners at The Cheesecake would do that, too.
Hope the trip is going well!
