Berry picking at Westmoreland

Yesterday was FCC strawberry picking day at Westmoreland Berry Farm in beautiful Westmoreland County Virginia. It was a fantastic day, but just a tad too hot once we got out in the strawberry fields. Nevertheless we picked tons of berries, and it is a good thing that the two little ones were not weighed before and after going out into the fields. Ava acted as she was in hog heaven, consuming lots and lots of berries, and Olivia did a fair number on the crop as well. Ava unfortunately had the evidence all over her as we came back in from picking, but nobody seemed to mind.

Frankie and Connor came and brought a friend, and they collectively picked 24 strawberries before retreating to the shade of the trees that lined the bank of the Rappahannock River.

All in all we had a great day, and in a few weeks we will be going back as the raspberries and blackberries will be ready.
